The yardage is automatically updated as you move down the fairway so you always know where you remain each step of the way.

Nearly all fairways have yardage markers that give you some idea how far it is to the middle of the green. But suppose the flag is on the front or back - it could be a substantial difference. With the Garmin GPS G5, you can determine the pin with the Approach's Green View. You just tap the flag on your monitor to zoom in on the green, move the flag to it's actual position on the green and you have the exact yardage. Amazingly, the Garmin GPS G5 is provided preloaded with over 12,000 courses. If your course is not present there, courses can be added by contacting Garmin. Distinct from other golf GPS devices, there are no setup or membership fees with this device.

You can digitally record your score along with other players in your foursome. Next, when you get home, you can upload your scores to your notebook with the built in UPS port.
