As I look at the nursery paging system, it seems that churches using them are either working with a really old method or are somewhere in between. I do not know when the first nursery was originally introduced by the church, but you will find sizeable churches in Europe which date back hundreds of years which could easily accommodate a nursery. And also I'm confident if they did have a nursery, an individual from it would need to go out into the congregation to inform a parent that they were needed by their young child. And the distressing thing is today with our sophisticated technological innovations, many churches continue to be using this same outdated method.
Having a nursery volunteer or usher wander along the aisles to locate a mother or father can not only be embarrassing for the mother and father but also interrupts the service and the people around them. So it was time to make a change. Next we had the LED monitor nursery paging system. A LED monitor ended up being installed in the front of the church, someplace within eye's view of the Preacher or Father. At the time a parent checks their little one in, they check out a pager. The moment the parent returns the pager to the nursery, their child is released to them. This is really a great security feature for children since the nursery can be an easy spot to abduct children for mothers and fathers that are in a custody dispute. It is sad to say, but it is true. Also, the pager is silent and vibrates the moment the parent is needed. It is completely private and does not disrupt others. A mother or father can also be paged anywhere on the church campus regardless of where they are at. The days of being concerned about your child in the nursery are over. No more disrupting the service or anxiously watching for your number, the nursery paging system has really come a long way.
